Wedding Photographer Top 10 Wedding Venues In Boise Continued…
Barber Park Event Center
Boise wedding photographers like this venue because of it’s spacious patio, outdoor landscaping, and it’s beautiful reception area. This event center is located in Barber Park. There is easy access to the river and pathways.
This wedding venue can accommodate up to 250 people. More information can be found on the Education and Event Page of their website. Remember to read your contract carefully. Approved vendors must have liability insurance. You are also required to pay for security personnel to make sure your guests and alcohol don’t wander off the property.
A wedding photographer can easily set up great shots inside or out. There are large glass windows and an open floor plan for an indoor ceremony or reception. The bride’s dressing room is pretty tight. I recommend getting ready photos be taken at the brides home or hotel room if you want fun photos with your bridesmaids. However, the kitchen area is spacious.Your wedding event cater will have plenty of space to prepare and to set up your food line.
Warning! If you book your wedding during river “floating season” at Barber Park, you may have uninvited guests walking through your patio ceremony with inflatables. During float season guests are charged a parking fee. You need to decide if you want to pay for your guests’ parking, or have each guest pay.

Boho trends in Wedding Photography
A great time capturing wedding photos and new trends! A new wedding trend is on the loose and coming to a town near you! It’s called Boho Weddings. While I was pining on pinterest I came across an article on Boho Wedding Trends. Curious to find out what this was I had to do a little internet search. After all I may be asked by a Boise bride to shoot her Boho wedding or maybe I have taken wedding photos at a boho wedding and didn’t even know about it.
According to wikipedia (and we know it’s reliable) Boho is short for bohemian. Boho-chic is a style of fashion with a bohemian and hippie influence. Several actresses made this style popular in 2005. Since 1990’s it has been in and out of the wedding photographers fashion scene. Many of the elements of the boho style came from the 1960’s.
Even though it’s a trend, it’s timely. Who doesn’t love the casualness of the style. Lace, flower headbands instead of a formal wedding veil, informal wedding party attire, and DIY wedding decor with lace and flowers, of course. It would be perfect for any of the outdoor wedding venue such as the Idaho Botanical Garden, Barber Park Event Center, Alpine Ponds, Boise Depot, Still Water Hollow, not to mention the ranch homes and ranch style event centers located in Eagle. And what about those destination weddings in McCall, Cascade and Sun Valley. Boho is so Idaho weddings even if you’re not a hippy with a VW bus.
Popular Wedding Venues for Boise Brides and Photographers: Wild Heart Springs
Wedding photographers in Boise are always excited going to a new venue. Although Wild Heart Springs has been around for a couple years this is my first year I had the opportunity to really get to know the place as a wedding photographer. I have to admit the first time I drove out to meet the bridal party at Wild Heart Springs it was an adventure. Be sure to have your GPS and follow it even when it looks like you are going into a private farmers road. A few turns and even more miles later….you have reached the oasis.
You can see the open fields, the river, and mature shade trees (my favorite). We were able to get close to the river for bride and groom photos. The bridge was a nice touch, it goes to a great optional outdoor ceremony area. Chelsey and Drew chose an intimate candlelight ceremony in the huge reception, dinner, dance building. The lighthouse chapel was used for their first look, shared by all their family and wedding party filling the pews. They both pulled the bell tower ropes announcing their wedding, while family played lawn games in the grass.

Popular Wedding Venues for Boise Brides and Photographers: BanBury Golf Course
Wedding ceremony and reception at BanBury, in Eagle Idaho, can accommodate up to 350 guests. When you rent the venue they allow you full access to the clubhouse for four hours. It’s a full package deal at BanBury. Pricing includes tables, chairs, tables, linens, dishes, glassware, silverware, set-up and clean-up.
Over the past years I have photographed many weddings at this Eagle wedding venue. From the clubhouse there is a great view of the lake. If you have an evening and the weather is cooperative on your special day it makes for wonderful sunset photos. A covered patio provides cool shade for your guests and is a great reception area for the toasting and head table. BanBury also offers a dance floor inside the clubhouse where your DJ will have plenty of space for his speakers and room for dancing. Be aware if your wedding should go over the four hour (start of ceremony is start of your four hours) you will be charged an extra $100.
Here are a few of Kevin Roberts Photography’s fun shots taken at BanBury. In early summer the lake offers a wonderful backdrop for bride and groom, wedding party, and individual portraits.
Popular Wedding Venues for Boise Brides and Photographers: The Club at SpurWing
The Club at SpurWing is another one of my personal favorite wedding event locations. SpurWing is a local Meridian golf course and clubhouse for hosting wedding events. It has a beautiful scenic backdrop for bride, groom, and wedding party photos. There is a stream and overlook along the course that are great spots to stop your golf cart for a photo shoot.
We usually start the day in the spacious bridal “getting ready” area, big enough for all your friends and lots of mirrors. Moving to the shaded entry area for bridal portraits we make good use of the wooden benches. The ceremony is usually held on the large patio. There is plenty of shade for a hot summer wedding. The photo below also shows all the available space for guests. After being served dinner, the wedding party ends the day on the dance floor. The newlyweds for one of my weddings used the dance floor to show off their special wedding day cowboy boots!
Catering is provided in wedding packages offered to couples. The terrace can accommodate 250 guests and the Grand ballroom can accommodate up to 350. View more details about wedding packages for The Club at SpurWing here.
